The records are sparse and contain mainly paperwork (1930-1958) on the process of acquiring port wine for the Horké Víno. There are also laboratory tests and correspondence with the Treasury Dept. during Prohibition regarding the status of Horké Víno as a beverage or a medicine. Half of the collection is personal papers, mainly financial records of Frank Chipak.

Originally named Bosak Manufacturing Co., Gold Seal Manufacturing Co. was a wine and liquor distribution business begun by Michael Bosak at the turn of the century. Based in Scranton, Pa., the company made Bosak's Horké Víno, a wine-based elixir and bottled and distributed other beverages. The company changed ownership in the 1920s, first to James A.
